Different coats will need different tools, make sure you have the correct brushes and combs for the job.
It is important to groom your pet at a height which is comfortable for both you and your dog. If you haven’t got a grooming table maybe the kitchen table or work bench? But any non-slip surface will suffice. Remember: never leave your dog unattended on the table
Start the grooming as part of your pet’s socialisation programme and routines. Keep the sessions little and often and make the experience positive, reward with praise and treats. Build up the experience and your pet will come to accept his grooming routine and it will also help for other activities such as veterinary visits.
